These earrings are inspired by the electric guitars in the Guitar Gallery at the Experience Music Project in Seattle Washington. Electric guitars, which were introduced in the 1930s, rely on an amplifier to manipulate tone. They were created to give the guitar greater volume to compete in the big band era. They have come to be the dominant instrument in popular music culture.
