Xela is short for Quetzaltenango, which is Guatemala's second largest city. The Xela huipil is the inspiration for this particular design. Huipil are traditional garments worn by Mayan women and are also popular throughout the Mexican states.
The backside of the pillow is solid cream-colored cotton fabric.
